[CI] fix merge target executable assignment in regression test jobs

There was a bug in !1929 (merged) which breaks the regression tests for MR pipelines to main-pc. The bug is not present in the to-be-merged to main branch. This fix is needed for all intermediate fixes to main-pc, though.
